The Stone of Destiny was used to crown the monarchs of Scotland for hundreds of years, but the English name is the Coronation Stone because all the English monarchs for the last seven hundred years or so have had the stone placed beneath the coronation chair as a symbol of English rule over the Scots. On Christmas Day, in 1950, four Scottish students stole the stone from Westminster Abbey, launching a huge search by the British government. The stone was returned to Westminster Abbey in April of 1951. -- I started playing for the historic homes in Virginia Beach in 1987. Much of my playing took place in the Francis Land House and, ,more specifically, in the cellar of the wonderful structure, hence the title.
