John is a career Army man who retired with the rank of Major. He is one of the nicest and most down-to-earth people you would want to know and I am fortunate to call him my friend. The mid to late 1990s were the early years of the Itinerant Band's time at Mount Vernon and we had a great location under a large white mulberry tree planted in the late 1790s, during the lifetime of George Washington.
